General Information

Late Registrations

Our season has begun! If you are still looking to register, please email us at staff@fairbanksyouthsoccer.com for late registration information. Currently we still have room in Adult Coed B. All other divisions are waitlisted. 

REGISTRATION & ELIGIBILITY INFO

  • Registration closes September 6th . Team information will be released on September 13th. 
  • Adult league is open to ages 15 and up.
  • All players register individually and will be considered a 'free-agent' unless they indicate a specific team on which they are registering to play.
  • Players  without a full team can indicate during registration any requested teammates to be paired with. FYSA will create teams with those individuals and keep together any requested teammates. 
  • Pre-formed teams must have a minimum of 11 players registered by the regular registration deadline to be considered an independent team otherwise FYSA reserves the right to place individual players on a team to reach that minimum threshold.

General SEASON INFORMATION

  • Our season will begin the week of  September 23rd.
  • All adult divisions will consist of 8 weeks of gameplay, with 1 game a week. There are no practices for this league. 
  • Games will be Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings starting between 6pm and 8pm. 
  • The majority of games will be played at Randy Smith Middle School, Ryan Middle School & Tanana Middle School this season. 

Division Descriptions:

Adult Coed A: A mildly competitive recreational coed division for players with prior soccer experience.

  • 5v5 with a goalkeeper on a hard-court surface using a size 4 futsal ball.
  • 25-minute halves.
  • Adult Co-ed A matches will have 2 referees.
  • This season there is a trophy involved and competition has been upped! The competitive division will feature weekly standings published weekly on social media and the league winners will receive the division trophy. 
  • Teams will receive 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. Tie-breakers are head-to-head competition and then goals against. 
  • Any competitive match where one team leads by ten goals will be ended immediately and the result and score recorded.

Adult Coed B: Great entry level or casual recreational division. 

  • 5v5 with a goalkeeper on a hard-court surface using a size 4 futsal ball.
  • Matches will have 1 referee.
  • 25-minute halves.
  • No scores will be recorded and no standings will be published.
  • Every team must have one female players on the pitch to start the game and through-out the match.
  •  Any team leading by five or more goals must play with one less player until the gap in score is less than 5 goals.

Open Competitive: A moderately competitive recreational division for players seeking an up tempo environment with players with club or high school or other significant soccer experience.

  • 5v5 with a goalkeeper on a hard-court surface using a size 4 futsal ball.
  • 25-minute halves.
  • Open competitive matches will have 2 referees.
  • The competitive division will feature weekly standings published weekly on social media and the league winners will receive the division trophy. 
  • Teams will receive 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. Tie-breakers are head-to-head competition, goals against, then total card count for the team. Goal difference and goals scored are not tie-breakers.
  • Every team must have three players, including a designated goalkeeper, to start and continue a match. 

REQUIRED GEAR/EQUIPMENT

  • Jerseys - All players must wear our standard adult red/gray reversible jersey unless the entire team has matching jerseys of the same color. Teams that opt to wear their own jerseys must have a light (away)  and dark (home) option.
  • Shorts - Must be athletic style, athletic pants are also acceptable.
  • Shinguards - All players will be required to wear shinguards in order to play in this league. Failure to do so will result in you not being able to play. 
  • Socks - socks must be large enough to cover your shinguards entirely. 
  • Shoes - All players must wear either indoor shoes, turf shoes, or non-marking tennis shoes on our courts. Cleats are not acceptable and you will not be permitted to play.

FYSA highly suggests you download the SportsEngine app through any app store for free to stay up to date with your team's game and practice schedule. Many teams also choose to use the team messaging function that is easily accessible through the app. Be sure to use the same username that you used when registering your player.

No Jewelry Policy

No jewelry of any kind, including watches, shall be worn while playing soccer. This includes rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and other piercings. Putting a piece of tape over a piece of metal does not prevent possible injury, for you or someone else you may come in contact with. Medical alert bracelets/necklaces are considered exempt from such policies, with the expectation that they are securely wrapped, taped down or otherwise covered.
